Money 50/50 Toronto 1: The Speakers

Money 5050 speakers 3Money 50/50 connects you to carefully-selected writers who help you master your money at a live must-attend interactive event. The 50/50 format means the talks are short (like TEDx) and that half the time is for your questions. You can also talk to the speakers during breaks.

Jason graduated with a Bachelor of Economics degree from York University in Toronto. He has also earned the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation. In addition, Jason has completed numerous financial, tax and estate planning specialty courses from a variety of organizations. Jason has appeared on CTV New Channel and authored and been interviewed for articles on a wide variety of topics appearing in publications such as the National Post, MoneySense, The Globe & Mail, the Toronto Star, Advisor’s Edge and Investment Executive. He is the Treasurer of the Block Parent Program of Canada and a personal finance columnist for the Financial Post.

He’s an insurance actuary (FSA, FCIA) who designed personal life/health products for various companies and then helped advisors across Canada sell them. In 2009, Promod started using his insider insights to help the public instead. He’s been interviewed in publications ranging from general (e.g., The Globe and Mail, the Toronto Star) to niche (e.g., Beyond Risk). He was the sole nominee from the financial sector for a 2011 Business Excellence Award from the Toronto Board of Trade. Promod oversees six Toastmasters clubs and has done presentations across Canada.
